The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Jimi Hendrix: Part of the 'Think Different Series'.
Jimi Hendrix is one of my all time favourite musicians. His creativity, individualism and sheer musical ability have been a huge inspiration. This portrait focuses on Jimi as a person as apposed to an entertainer; I particularly wanted to create a dichotomy between the bright, loud colours and the solemn expression depicted in the portrait.
These opposing qualities represent the differences between Jimi, the performer, and the person. The former being loud, confident and overly expressive and the later, quiet, humble and unassuming.
